Plasma Skin Tightening Treatment

Plasma Skin Tightening, also known as Fibroblast or soft surgery is an alternative to invasive surgical cosmetic procedures, reducing recovery time without complications that can arise before and after surgery. Plasma Skin Tightening utilizes plasma formed ionization of atmospheric gasses to stimulate collagen and elastin, creating an instant tissue retraction and tightening (as opposed to removal) giving results that are comparable to the ones seen with cosmetic surgery.

This treatment is performed by using a plasma device applying tiny plasma arc dots on the area to stimulate instant contraction and tightening of the tissues forming little carbon crusts. The arc causes superficial damage to the upper dermal layer of the skin and transmits heat to the lower levels of the skin. This causes the new skin to generate collagen and elastin fibres that can fade as we age. The carbon crusts will flake off anywhere between 4-10 days. As results vary per individual and depending on severity of skin laxity some patients may require more than one treatment

This amazing procedure can be done anywhere on the body, most popular for:

  • Hooded Eyelid Lifting
  • Under Eye
  • Crow’s Feet
  • Forehead Lines
  • Nasolabial Fold
  • Marionette Lines
  • Jowls
  • Neck Lines
  • Stretch marks, scars
  • Smoker’s Lines
  • Skin Lesions (such as warts, milias, moles (flat or raised), age spots

Advantages vs Surgery:

  • No incision of skin
  • No stitches required
  • No risk associated with surgery
  • Minimal side effects and far less downtime
  • No thinning of the skin
  • Induces collagen growth
  • Significant cost saving
  • Natural results
  • Immediate results visible, best results seen in 3 weeks.

How long does Plasma Skin Tightening last?

The results are permanent, although it does not stop your natural aging process, you should still see lasting results for years as they would with cosmetic surgery. For longer lasting results you should maintain a healthy lifestyle, avoid smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and prolonged sun exposure.

Am I a good candidate for Plasma Skin Tightening?

As with the majority of cosmetic procedures, if you are pregnant or nursing you should avoid this treatment. Although some darker skin types are suitable for the soft surgery procedure, it is not advised for those with very dark skin. This is because there is a higher risk of hyperpigmentation (dark spots) or hypopigmentation (light spots) following treatment, particularly if the carbon crust are disturbed by scratching, scrubbing or picking.
If you have any health concerns, please consult your doctor before proceeding with treatment.

What is the procedure like?

It is best to arrive with clean skin without any make-up on the treatment area. You will need to apply a numbing cream on the treatment area 30 minutes prior to your treatment – this will be discussed in your pre-treatment consultation. When the treatment area is sufficiently numb the session begins. You may feel some heat in the treatment area, which may be uncomfortable and slightly painful (equivalent to sunburn discomfort). Treatment time is usually between 30-60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.
Immediately after the treatment, you may experience a burning sensation, but it should only last a few hours, and your therapist will apply a cooling gel to the treatment area. Following your treatment your therapist will give you thorough aftercare instructions to ensure that you see the best results.

You will see immediate results after your treatment, but the best results will be seen after three weeks.
